This FUN TOURNAMENT is a fundraiser in support of Castleton Sports Club’s maintenance of the rinks and the operation of its programs. There are no winners or no losers. ANY aggressive behaviour, fighting or verbal abuse to anyone will not be tolerated. Should this occur the individual will be automatically asked to leave the facility, if this is a player your money will not be refunded.
RULES
6 players minimum per team; 4 on 4 with subs. A change of players is done “on the fly”
Minimum required equipment is a CSA approved helmet, hockey gloves & skates. Full equipment is recommended.
$25/per player to register. Deadline to register is Feb. 11 (registration form below) with Jeff at jeff@amherstgroup.ca or text Stacy at 416-999-4985. Only team captains need to submit the registration form
No goaltender or goaltending permitted. You cannot block the net with a stick laying in front of the net nor can a player block the net in any way
The tournament is time sensitive and must remain on schedule!! Ensure your team is ready to play at the scheduled time.
Games are 25mins in length beginning on the hour and at 26 minutes after the hour SHARP. If a team is late the other team will be awarded 1 goal per minute your team is late.
The ice is flooded at 10 mins before the hour. All players must remain off the ice during a flood.
The only time a face off occurs is at the start of the game.
Shots above the knee are not permitted, If shots are made in an aggressive manner the team captain will be issued one warning, a second warning will result in the player being asked to leave the tournament.
After a goal has been scored that team will clear the zone and skate back to the red line or midway of the rink, the same as 4 on 4 hockey. Once the last player has crossed your team may go back in. Your team can not cross over the line until the puck has been removed from the net.
If a puck is shot or a missed pass occurs causing the puck to go off the rink the other team is awarded the puck.
If weather becomes an issue during the tournament the tournament maybe called.
