We are pleased to again offer yoga classes at the town hall. Unfortunately we have had to move the night to Thursdays for the upcoming session but we have confirmed Laura will be back to lead us. If you haven’t tried one of Laura’s classes, you won’t be disappointed. She does an amazing job of tailoring the classes to all skill levels. Please bring your mat, water and blanket if you desire.

The arrival of 2017 signifies the beginning of a year long celebration of Canada’s 150th. The Sports club will continue to enrich it’s local community by supporting many events in our area. Yoga at the Castleton Town Hall and volleyball will resume the week of January 9 and minor sports registrations for soccer and baseball will be offered soon. It is our hope that Mother Nature will cooperate with development of the rink slated to start later this week. IF the ice holds, look for the return of the Castleton Cup mid winter. Our AGM is scheduled for January and we are in need of members. The club was founded on a need and volunteerism. The need continues and we believe the spirit of volunteering runs deep in our community. Please consider becoming a member of the Sports Club.
The new session of Yoga will begin January 9. Kevin will lead our first 2 classes and when Laura returns from vacation she will resume leading until the middle of May. No experience is necessary and is open to any member of the community. Bring a mat and water and as winter sets in it is advisable to dress in layers. Cost and class dates are below. Sign up will be held the first night, January 9 at the Castleton Town Hall. Make cheques payable to the Castleton Sports Club if you wish to sign up for the whole shebang and in an effort to be efficient please print and bring the completed form (found here csc-winter-session ) to sign up.
2017 is quickly approaching. Volleyball and Yoga will pick back up in the new year. Volleyball returns January 10th 2017 and yoga will begin again on January 9th 2017. Details for yoga will be posted ASAP.
There will be no yoga on Monday due to Halloween. NOTE: As the weather has started to turn cooler, it would be wise to dress in layers and perhaps bring a blanket for Savasana or Corpse Pose.
****** REMINDER ******
Yoga classes at the Castleton Town Hall will begin Monday September 12. Laura will be back leading class. Laura’s classes are geared to all skill levels. The season will be 13 classes total. The steal of season…. $100 for the whole shebang! That’s 3 free classes but unfortunately there will be no makeup classes if there is an early season snow cancellation. Last class of this season is December 19. If you want to get in on the deal come to the Castleton Town Hall Monday September 12 a little early with a $100 cheque payable to Castleton Sports Club (or cash). Doors will open at 6:30 for registration. Otherwise $10 drop in rate will still apply. Please bring a yoga mat and water. Contact Tracey if you would like more information at firstname.lastname@example.org. Forms will be available on Tuesday but to make registration more efficient please print out the the Whole Shebang form and bring your payment to the hall.
A couple of things….minor ball is in need of players. For various reasons some children have left teams that had been assembled and now those teams need players to compete this season. Organizers need Rookie players (ages 7-9) and Coach throw players (ages 5-7). There are still spaces for the splits (ages 3-5) available as well. Contact Jeff at email@example.com to register immediately.
Tonight is also the last night for yoga practice this session. Drop in fee of $10 applies to those that did not pay for the whole shebang. Thank you very much to Francesca Bonta and Laura Lee Chrysler of Karma Lifestyle Yoga for helping facilitate yoga in Castleton. See you in the fall
