Plans are being made to host a Pond Hockey tournament, complete with the Castleton Cup. Our tentative date is Monday, February 19, Family Day but Mother Nature will ultimately decide if this event will happen. The tournament will be open to players 18 and under. Updates and details will be posted here
It has come to our attention that snowmobiles are being driven on the soccer fields. We respectfully request that any riders stay to the perimeter of the fields. All the fields were seeded in the fall and prepped for more fertilizer and seed in the spring. The last 2 years have taken a devastating toll on the fields and it will be a slow, expensive process to bring them back. Snowmobiles can damage the surface. We understand that occasionally users of the rink often ride up to the fields but please respect the work we have undertaken.
The recent warm spell with rain has made the ice surface unstable. Ice has formed over pockets of water. Please stay off until further notice
Erin Hobbs Graphic Design generously volunteered time to create not only our logo but the new sign we had installed this summer. So many people commented on the lack of signage we previously had that we undertook this upgrade. Hopefully now the location of our fields will be more visible. If you need graphic work done, contact Erin. Examples of her work can be found here.
Volunteers are needed for bingo on September 27th from 5:15pm to 9:15pm. If there is anyone over 18 that is interested or available the support would be greatly appreciated. Volunteer hours can still be applied to the 2017 season or the 2018 season. Please let Kevin know by email or text 289 251 9870 (please identify yourself)
The annual Terry Fox run/walk is set for Sunday Sept 17. Registration at the fields will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the run scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
Still time to take advantage of the great Whole Shebang deal. There was great support last week and we look forward to providing you with an hour of yoga to help unwind through the fall. Check out the deal HERE
