Minor Ball Coordinator

At our meeting last night our long-time minor ball co-coordinator announced he has decided to step down.  If we are to run a minor ball program this year, we need a new co-coordinator.  The program can be either softball or hardball, noting that our fields are set up for softball.  IF the new co-coordinator chooses to take the hardball route, Bantam age players and up will have to use another field to host games in the past this has been in Cobourg.  Please contact a member of the Sports Club Executive if you are interested.

Two Rinks

Jeff and Stacy braved the bitter cold this weekend and finished creating a 2nd ice surface. We ask that hockey be played on the rink with the lights and the ball diamond rink be used by recreational and young skaters. Please share the surfaces with all users and either take trash with you or put it in the garbage bins. Weather is looking great leading up to our first scheduled Pond Hockey tournament on Fri. Feb 1 (PD for KPRDSB). Contact Jeff for details.

Rink Update

Please remain off the rink and have patience. To all we regret the late start for the rink this year, the warmer than usual weather conditions have put a bit of hamper on the start-up.  The last 3 weeks have seen plus numbers on the thermometer.   Yes, there have been rinks posted as open on social media showing people skating various ice conditions.  Not too many areas are like the sports fields, it’s not a simple task to flood and have a safe ice surface with a gravel base and straight sand underneath that when the temperature isn’t below freezing….
